With the new year quickly approaching, I have put together a list of 5 reasons to visit WDW in 2021. A new year to me means a clean slate and new opportunities to create memories! Without any further adieu, let’s get right into my top 5 reasons to visit WDW in 2021!
Park Hopping Returns
First things first, park hopping returns! This is not a drill! I repeat park hopping returns! Beginning January 1, 2021, guests will be able to park hop. Since the re-opening of Walt Disney World, post COVID-19, guests have had to make theme park reservations to one park, per day. I know many guests are excited for park hopper tickets to return. It allows more flexibility on your trip and you have the opportunity to get more done each day. I highly recommend park hopper tickets and this is my top reason to visit WDW in 2021!
The way park hopping will work is, first, you will make your theme park reservation for your first park of the day. Second, confirm the park hopper hours. Park hopping will begin at 2 pm. each day and will end at the time your selected park closes. Step 3, visit your first park! Step 4, wait for your time to hop to your next park!
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure
The second reason to visit WDW in 2021 is (drumroll)…. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure! This attraction is slated to open in 2021! Currently, the only place in the world you experience Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is at Disneyland Paris. You will soon find it at Epcot in the France Pavillion. Here, you will get to experience everything from Remy’s point of view as you zoom around Gusteau’s kitchen! This is going to be such a fun attraction!
Harmonious
Reason 3 to visit WDW in 2021, Harmonious! What is Harmonious you ask? This is the much anticipated nighttime show that will be seen at Epcot! It’s predecessor, Epcot Forever, was the interim show that followed the long-running (20 years!) nighttime show, Illuminations. It is expected to be the largest and most extravagant nighttime show at Walt Disney World. Based on all of the other nighttime shows that Walt Disney World puts on, you know this is going to be a real show stopper! You can expect to see massive floating set pieces that will house custom-built LED panels, colorful lights, lasers, synchronized fountain displays, and pyrotechnics! I can’t wait to see this!
Lower Crowds
With 2021 around the corner, we have seen crowds at an all-time low, post-COVID. Currently, the parks are at 35% capacity. What does this mean for guests? This means you can see and do just about everything on your list. Would it benefit you to have a touring plan? Yes! This is where I come in.
If you want to keep your trip very laidback, flexible, and with little plans, now is the perfect time for that, too! Recently, I spent an entire day on Main Street, U.S.A. just taking in all the sights and sounds. I relaxed on the hub grass and watched the cavalcades come through. It was so magical!
Whatever your agenda is, this is a great time to cross that trip off your list. There are some great discounts available right now, too. You can find them here!
50th Anniversary
Last, but certainly not least, Walt Disney World will celebrate their 50th Anniversary! On October 1, 1971, Walt Disney World opened its gates to the Magic Kingdom! The rest is history. You can bet there will be celebrations galore. The Cinderella Castle recently had a makeover, as well as the main entrance to Walt Disney World. For those who remember the celebration of the 25th Anniversary, they turned the Cinderella Castle into a giant cake! Now, I can’t say that will be the case again for the 50th, but I am sure you can expect a lot goodies for such a momentous occasion!
There you have it! The top 5 reasons to visit WDW in 2021. Of course, there are many other reasons to visit! 2020 has been a difficult year for many of us.
