5 Reasons to Visit WDW in 2021

With the new year quickly approaching, I have put together a list of 5 reasons to visit WDW in 2021. A new year to me means a clean slate and new opportunities to create memories! Without any further adieu, let’s get right into my top 5 reasons to visit WDW in 2021!

Park Hopping Returns

First things first, park hopping returns! This is not a drill! I repeat park hopping returns! Beginning January 1, 2021, guests will be able to park hop. Since the re-opening of Walt Disney World, post COVID-19, guests have had to make theme park reservations to one park, per day. I know many guests are excited for park hopper tickets to return. It allows more flexibility on your trip and you have the opportunity to get more done each day. I highly recommend park hopper tickets and this is my top reason to visit WDW in 2021!

The way park hopping will work is, first, you will make your theme park reservation for your first park of the day. Second, confirm the park hopper hours. Park hopping will begin at 2 pm. each day and will end at the time your selected park closes. Step 3, visit your first park! Step 4, wait for your time to hop to your next park!

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure

The second reason to visit WDW in 2021 is (drumroll)…. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure! This attraction is slated to open in 2021! Currently, the only place in the world you experience Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is at Disneyland Paris. You will soon find it at Epcot in the France Pavillion. Here, you will get to experience everything from Remy’s point of view as you zoom around Gusteau’s kitchen! This is going to be such a fun attraction!

Harmonious

Reason 3 to visit WDW in 2021, Harmonious! What is Harmonious you ask? This is the much anticipated nighttime show that will be seen at Epcot! It’s predecessor, Epcot Forever, was the interim show that followed the long-running (20 years!) nighttime show, Illuminations. It is expected to be the largest and most extravagant nighttime show at Walt Disney World. Based on all of the other nighttime shows that Walt Disney World puts on, you know this is going to be a real show stopper! You can expect to see massive floating set pieces that will house custom-built LED panels, colorful lights, lasers, synchronized fountain displays, and pyrotechnics! I can’t wait to see this!

Lower Crowds

With 2021 around the corner, we have seen crowds at an all-time low, post-COVID. Currently, the parks are at 35% capacity. What does this mean for guests? This means you can see and do just about everything on your list. Would it benefit you to have a touring plan? Yes! This is where I come in.

If you want to keep your trip very laidback, flexible, and with little plans, now is the perfect time for that, too! Recently, I spent an entire day on Main Street, U.S.A. just taking in all the sights and sounds. I relaxed on the hub grass and watched the cavalcades come through. It was so magical!

Whatever your agenda is, this is a great time to cross that trip off your list. There are some great discounts available right now, too. You can find them here!

50th Anniversary

Last, but certainly not least, Walt Disney World will celebrate their 50th Anniversary! On October 1, 1971, Walt Disney World opened its gates to the Magic Kingdom! The rest is history. You can bet there will be celebrations galore. The Cinderella Castle recently had a makeover, as well as the main entrance to Walt Disney World. For those who remember the celebration of the 25th Anniversary, they turned the Cinderella Castle into a giant cake! Now, I can’t say that will be the case again for the 50th, but I am sure you can expect a lot goodies for such a momentous occasion!

There you have it! The top 5 reasons to visit WDW in 2021. Of course, there are many other reasons to visit! 2020 has been a difficult year for many of us. More Character Dining Opens at WDW!

More character dining opens at WDW! Here’s what you need to know… Beginning September 25, 2020, Hollywood & Vine at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will open for character meals! Meet Minnie and her friends, in their Halloween attire. While this won’t be like character dining experiences in the past, you will be able to wave and take socially distanced selfies with the characters! This is a great way to meet some characters in their unique costumes while staying cool!

Calling all princess fanatics! Enjoy a meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table starting September 24, 2020! There’s nothing quite as enchanted and magical as a meal in the Cinderella Castle! If you’re looking for a divine meal with dishes like beef tenderloin and roasted chicken breast, then this is the place to be! This is such an immersive dining experience and isn’t one to be missed! If you have a princess or prince in your family who would love to dine inside the castle, I highly recommend eating here!

If either of these places interest you, Advanced Dining Reservations (ADR) open up on Friday, September 11, 2020. Remember, ADR’s now open 60 days before your trip! Favorite WDW Deluxe Resort

If you are looking to stay on Disney property and want all of the bells and whistles, then staying in a Deluxe resort is right where you need to be. Our top pick of Deluxe resorts is Disney’s Beach Club Resort!

Favorite Deluxe Resort

When you stay here, you are engulfed in the New England ambiance and they do not disappoint. The Beach Club Resort really has it all. From fine dining at Yachtsman Steakhouse to splashing around at Stormalong Bay and the close proximity to two of the four parks, you really can’t go wrong.

Exterior Beach Club, Epcot - Favorite WDW Deluxe Resort

Disney’s Beach Club Resort is located next to Epcot and is within walking distance to Hollywood Studios. Once you leave the Beach Club Resort, it will take you all of five minutes to walk to the International Gateway at Epcot! How awesome is that?

Hollywood Studios is about a twenty-minute walk, making it very convenient for your days at Hollywood Studios. It’s really nice not having to wait for a bus to take you to the park and back. It allows you more flexibility and to be on more of your own schedule. Have a child that’s tired and needs to get back to the resort for a nap? You can walk back and be there in no time. You also have the option to take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. This is such a fun mode of transportation and makes for a unique way to see some of the parks, too!

Dining Options, Galore!

When it comes to dining, there are a plethora of options to choose from. If you’re looking for a nice place to sit down and enjoy a fancy meal, then head over to Yachtsman Steakhouse. You can find fresh seafood, divine steaks, and fantastic drinks. Café Cape May is the perfect spot for a character dining breakfast! Or enjoy a seafood buffet at dinner (character dining is only available at breakfast).

Beaches and Cream - Beach Club Resort - Favorite WDW Deluxe Resort

Looking for a place to grab a bite to eat with a gastropub vibe? Then Ale & Compass will be the spot for you. If you just want to grab a drink and some light bites, be sure to check out Ale & Compass Lounge. Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is a fan favorite and is located next to Stormalong Bay! Stop in this 1950’s inspired eatery for lunch or dinner and be sure to grab some ice cream while you’re there!

Amenities & Recreation

Now that we’ve covered dining, let’s move onto the amenities that are available to the guests that stay at the Beach Club Resort. If anyone in your family loves to swim, then Stormalong Bay is the place to be! With three acres of water areas to roam around at, who wouldn’t love it here? If you’re looking for a more relaxing pool destination, check out one of the Beach Club’s three leisure pools!

Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, girl’s weekend, or just want to pamper yourself, then you need to check out Ship Shape Massage Salon Fitness. From massages to aromatherapy to pedicures and working out, Ship Shape Massage Salon Fitness has something for everyone. If you love to run, you can also jog along the Boardwalk and make your way to Hollywood Studios and back!

Storm Along Bay - Beach Club Resort - Favorite WDW Deluxe Resort

There are so many wonderful places to dine, play, and relax when you stay at the Beach Club Resort. The close proximity to two of the four parks, with three different modes of transportation, this is resort can’t be beaten!

Favorite WDW Moderate Resort

We love the Moderate resorts at Walt Disney World because they have a luxury feel to them, without a luxury price tag. Each of the resorts in this category offers a different theme and vibe throughout the respective resort. The rooms at Moderate resorts are also a bit larger than those at Value resorts. Enchanting Moments Travel’s top Moderate Resort pick is (drumroll)… Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside!

Favorite Moderate Resort

At Port Orleans Riverside, you will feel right at home. While the resort does boast a stately manor, it also has a charming quaintness about it. From the magnolia trees that sprawl across the property, to enjoying a stroll down the Sassagoula River, you feel like you’re home away from home.

Port Orleans Riverside - Favorite WDW Moderate Resort

Whether you choose to stay in a Standard Room or a Royal Room on the bayou, you really can’t go wrong. The Royal Rooms are a favorite for any Princess fan! The Royals Rooms have pictures of the Disney Princesses, as well as a headboard that lights up at night! The Standard rooms are just as lovely. With crisp white linens, and functionality as a priority, the Standard rooms will fit the bill quite nicely.

Dining & Recreation

The food at Port Orleans Riverside is delicious! If you’re looking for a place to sit down and enjoy a nice meal after a long day in the parks, then Boatwright’s Dining Hall is just the ticket! Here you’ll enjoy the comfort food of Southern cooking. Did we mention they have beignets? Yum! Looking to grab a quick bite to eat? Not a problem. You can grab something from Riverside Mill Food Court and take it back to your room or dine in! And yes, there is a large watermill out front!

There is nothing quite like relaxing by the pool for a midday break from the parks, and Port Orleans Riverside knows how to accommodate! Did you know, you can go for a swim at one of Port Orleans Riverside’s five pools, but you can also swim at Port Orleans French Quarter pools? That’s right! These are sister resorts, which means you can dine or swim at both resorts.

Transportation

While you will have to take a bus to get to the parks, Disney Springs is just a boat ride away! That’s right! Have a dinner reservation at Disney Springs? Hop on the boat, and float down the Sassagoula River. It’s as serene as it sounds and really sets the tone for your evening.

Port Orleans French Quarter is just a stroll away from Port Orleans Riverside! This is a big reason why we love Port Orleans. It feels like you are getting twice the amenities when you stay at Port Orleans Riverside. If you want to soak up the atmosphere, you can also take a carriage ride on the property! It’s a great way to get off your feet for a bit and enjoy the scenery that Port Orleans has to offer.
